Why is womens tennis best if 3 rather than best of 5 like the mens? I mean surely they are equally as fit and could last another 2 or 3 sets no problem. Seems strange that there would be any difference.

Most of the non Grand Slam events are three sets for men, maybe it's just some old rules that have stuck.

Because women's tennis is awful, and the less time spent playing / watching it the better.

Might get a better answer in the Tennis Forum, but generally, its only in the Slams where there is this difference. Most other tournaments through out the year, they both play best of three.
