brake fluid vs brake and clutch fluid

    bought castrol dot 4 brake fluid. but was thinking is there and diff between that and dot 4 brake and clutch fluid.

    as itll be doing both.

    to me its only name differance. am i right

    It doesn't matter what brand of brake fluid you use, as both use the same as you say.If the makers state dot 3 than use that, and if dot 4 then use that. Most systems actually have a pipe from the brake reservoir going into supply the clutch nowadays.Just make sure you don't use LHM or mineral brake fluid unless the car is meant to have it, example Citroen.
