The poor man. It would be very hard to take up his line of work again after this type of accusation.

Some celebrity mentioned this on Twitter yesterday, and got a torrent of abuse from a brigade of radical feminists for talking about that while "not pointing out the real violence that goes on against women every day" and "not believing the victim".

Eh, nobody disputes the fact that very real violence goes on against women every day - that's why false accusations are incredibly serious, and spit on real victims. As for "not believing the victim" - stupid line of reasoning in this case I thought, she admitted to pulling the story out of the nearest oriface, and he had audio evidence to prove it. Of course I don't believe "the victim" in this case, she was clearly lying through her teeth, and has been sent to jail for doing so. That's not to say anything about any other case - it all depends on the evidence at the end of the day...
