A friend of mine has bought himself one of these (3100).

He was wondering how he might set it so that breath and bowel sounds are audible?

At the moment, I can actually hear his heart pretty well even from the back, but bowel and breath sounds are almost absent (and very audible with a normal steth!).

The instructions don't specify, but vaguely mention altering frequency to hear different sounds. If anyone could help, he'd much appreciate it. :)

Amazon or eBay are the cheapest by far, even with delivery fees (still expensive all the same).

Thanks. Is it silly to get for what I want it for? Can you hear lots?

You can hear bits and pieces, takes a little getting used to.

Depends if you want to spend at least 60 quid for the pleasure?

Cheapest on Amazon is £2.86. Fairly crap but suitable for what he wants.

    I stand corrected, thanks beeno.

I had to go steth shopping a couple of weeks ago and was only looking at Littmanns which start at 60 or so, but forgot about the other makes.
