Sounds like he thought he was being funny and it backfired and ended up
    looking like a fool.

I think the horse he rode collapsed. Connell was out looking at the big screen for about 10 mins as the horse and jockey disappeared, all of a sudden Danny pulls up in a red cross ambulance, leaves it running in the middle of the road and runs up to Connell, starts pointing down the track. Then about 5 minutes later the horse is walked from down the straight and into the parade ring. The Red Cross driver wasn't too happy :pac:

to be fair I've met danny a couple of times at racing and nights out etc and he has been a sound lad, takes time to come over and chat away, he's still young and still has a lot to learn to be a top jockey though but i feel this has been blown out of proportion

Any idea why assistance was slow. Were they dealing with another injured faller or what?

And what assistance, exactly, was he seeking? His horse was pulled up, he himself did not require medical attention, I would imagine.

Blown our of proportion? He commandeered an ambulance. That is a legal offence, nare mind whatever ban he receives. Would he do it if he was pulled over on the side of the road waiting to be towed by AA?

The horse actually collapsed and died.He waited over 10 mins for a horse ambulance or vet to arrive.Owner of the horse wrote to the turf club questioning the delay of help to arrive.

Waiting for a horse ambulance, yes. How is that an excuse for the commandeering of an ambulance?

This is being blown way out of proportion.
He was clearly annoyed that it was taking so long for assistance to arrive and in the heat of the moment he sat into and drove an ambulance back to the weigh room so that he would be on-time for his next race.
    People need to relax

Its not being blown way out of proportion at all. Too many people saying he is a legend. Hes a pompous little **** with no regard for anything whatsoever. He just sat into and drove an ambulance? Without permission or insurance. If that wasnt on a racecourse, what would it be called?

What he did was rather reckless. The ban should serve as a lesson to the young lad and a deterrent to anyone else who plays fast and loose with life saving equipment.

I never said it was an excuse...just saying what I seen in the Irish field newspaper.

nope im actually not...Norman was not happy at all haha Danny Mullins showed total disregard for the safety of OMAC personnel and placed 1 of our 3 vehicles on scene out of our hands. This couldve been a more serious incident if the ambulance was needed and unavailable due to him!
