Toyota Corolla [keys locked inside]

    Hey

    Problem with my Corolla 2001.

    -Key is inside the car
-I have the buzzer to open the car but the battery is now dead. I could hear the mechanism trying to open.

    What's my best option?

Was thinking of trying to somehow open the bonnet and hook up the battery to another car.

Anyone know how to do this - open the bonnet from the outside?

    Thanks

either change the battery in the buzzer or
try and recharge it by leaving it on an electric toothbrush charger for a few hours.

Id be trying to get at the bonnet release cable from underneath. Not sure where it runs on that model though.

get a good tow / recovery man. he'll be able to open the door in a few mins.

better than messing or damaging bonnet lock mechansim

Do you have AA assist or similar they have no problem getting in they use a little balloon type like what doctor uses for blood pressure to open door and hook keys

I dont think you will be able to open the bonnet without doing damage, surely its designed to be tamper proof? I think you will either have to break the back window or see if the dealer can open it for you. But Im no car expert, just an average joe.

See if you can get some straps like they use to secure boxes/pallets and slide it though the frame and try and hook the handle, ive seen this work before

You'd think that alright, but on a lot of cars of that vintage, especially Japanese cars you can open the bonnet from the outside pretty easily. If you look up under the car between the grill and the radiator you will likely be able to see the release cable.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Haha oh right, its a wonder how loads of people aren't getting their batteries stolen!
