Circuses should be banned with wild animals

Having been to cirque du soleil twice, I admit its amazing. But this is about 5 to 10% of the price. For the money, its great.

Does it have animals? Then I'm not interested.

Couldn't agree more. It's a tragedy that we're still allowing wild animals to live miserable lives on the road with circuses. I'm sure if people thought a bit harder about it they'd take their children for a day out elsewhere.

I don't know who the poster above is calling a spammer or who works for Fossets, I'm neither. But I'd like to clarify that there are no acts with animals. There's pony rides before the show and during the interval. If them carrying 3 yr olds is cruel then the worlds gone mad

So you want to watch animals doing tricks ?
Do you know how they can do tricks ?

There whipped and burnt with cigarettes and starved until they do tricks ?

It's a disgrace it's still going on in Ireland.

Animal rights action network (ARAN) got animals on circuses banned in England from 2015 and trying to do the same here.

    There banned in Paraguay.

Why can't governments cop ok and ban them its disgusting what's happening.

And I can't believe people on this day and age go to circuses for entertainment.

Stop going to these it's only encouraging this s**t

Think you read that the wrong way around.

Went the other night, very good value for money and no animals

What are you talking about? Animals in circuses are much better treated than Travellers horses around Dublin. Why not ban them first from having animals?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,385 ✭✭✭Jemmy

I was at this last night well worth it, only animals were 2 ponies that were well capable of carrying the tots that were on them.

As for you two give over unless you've first hand experience in either. That discrimination & sstereotyping is unreal, there are all classes in this world who are just as shocking to animals. Do you worry about our homeless & abused ppl as much? And before you say anything I've worked with both!

Its the medical testing on certain breeds of so called dangerous dogs (when we know its their owners are the problem) who are injected with hormones in the battery and only live for 13 days just to produce our lipstick/kievs/leather shoes/grand nationals/veal/fois gras/missing rainforests...that what i want fossetts and their genetically engineered minature child carrying superhorses to answer for

Good to hear they finally stopped using wild animals in their show, long overdue. Hopefully others will follow suit, or the government will finally step in and change the law.

As sorry as I feel for them people I'm more interested in working with abandoned and abused animals.
Animals have no rights no voice people think they can beat them. There should be laws about this and sentences in jail for abusing animals.

Circus animals in this country ARE NOT mistreated, there are treated like family pets! before blabbing off why dont you all get your facts right, the RSPCA pay regular visits to the circus animals and are routinlely inspected.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 769 ✭✭✭Twoandahalfmen

It's hard for the RSPCA to visit when in Ireland it's the DSPCA OR ISPCA

There are no f*cking animals in this circus....Christ.

Wife and kids went today and had a great time...2 Shetland ponies taking kids around the ring are the height of it.

    Good bargain alert though OP.

Can we please have a bit of moderation on this thread or are we all supposed to support animal rights extremists.

This started out as a genuine BA mods.
