13/14 new signings (We need more Michus!)

With the new signings there is always potential for a great bargain that rakes in the points. Many other people in your league might not even know much about them and wouldn't even consider putting them in their team due to this lack of knowledge. So lets list some of the signings we think could be game changers.

I know it's early days yet in the transfer market but I thought the thread would be worth starting now since the window just after opening.

Jordi Amat - Central Defender - Swansea

This guy is only 21 and has represented Spain at all levels up to the U21's. There isn't much goal potential in him, I'm including set pieces in that since he isn't the tallest centre back at just over 6ft but he could represent genuine quality and potential clean sheets and/or bonus points. I'd expect him to be reasonably priced too.

Erik Pieters - Left back - Stoke City

This guy has experience at international and Champions league level, combine that with Stokes defensive qualities and you could be looking at a consistent points earner. He has 17 caps at the age of 24 for the Netherlands; he could be a shrewd signing.

Andreas Cornelius - Striker - Cardiff City

Premier League new boys Cardiff City have splashed the cash on a young giant (6' 4") that racked up 18 goals with FC Copenhagen last season. At only 20 years of age he already has 7 caps for Denmark and is likely to be the main man for Cardiff up front next season. He cost £8m but is likely to priced pretty cheaply in FF.

As I said, it's early days but throw in your promising prospects and lets see who could be next seasons surprise points producer!

Villa have made 5 interesting signings already. Going to be hard to see at first who will figure, but Tonev looks like a good prospect, shoots off both feet, so if he gets a run in the team, he could be good value.

Perhaps not in the surprise category, but it will be interesting to see what price Aspas for Liverpool is.

Jonjo Shelvey.......now hear me out :pac: He has a goal in him and I'm not sure Michu will have the same level of output next season. He shouldn't be anymore than 5.0 either.

Anelka strikes me as a Berbatov of last season. anything 7.0 or les and a lot of teams will have him as their 3rd striker I think. I'm not too sure about him though, I'd wait and see if they make any other signings.

Nathan Redmond/Ricky Van Wolfswinkel: Will either be a slick machine or end up like Jarvis/Carroll last season.

Kagawa: Could be just like a new signing really, if he plays centrally!

Any idea when the prices and lists are so we can actually play around with things for real?

Going by previous seasons, prices should be up around July 12th.

I read somewhere the other day that it will be in the next fortnight.

I'm hoping Berbatov will be the Berbatov of next year, Fulham need to get him more ammo and he'll score 20 goals.

Hard to say where the true value will be until we see how everyone is priced up. The ones that will likely represent true value will be the ones who end up even cheaper than we're currently expecting them to be.

Higuain surely must be worth considering if he signs for Arsenal .

I'm backing Higuain to outscore RVP this season.

In my head I have RVP/Higuain/Wolfie as a potential trio at the moment

Edit: or Aguero....ah the excitment :D

Arsenal could really be interesting if they sign Higuain and Fellaini.

That's Fellaini, Walcott, Podolski, Cazorla, Higuain all as otential attacking options.

I'm also hoping Van Wolf comes in fairly cheap, and Brady too for set pieces!

It looks like charlie austin is going from burnley to hull. He has a goal every 2 games in his 2 seasons at burnley and before that an even better average at swindon. 4 seasons ago he was playing non league football and also working as a bricklayer. The season before last him and jay rodriguez had a great partnership at burnley. I cant see him being priced any higher than 5 million should be a great 3rd striker option. He will probably be on pens aswell.

Looks like Wilfried Bony could be signing for Swansea. If he does he's definitely on my watchlist. Top scorer in Eredivisie last season with 31 goals. 37 goals total for the season in 36 appearances.

Bony was my initial thought also when I opened this thread.

IF Wildred Bony signs and plays as furthest forward, Michu can get back to playing in the exact position he does best.

And will forever be known as the Boney M axis :pac:

    Bony is a FIFA legend.

I thought last year Aguero would run amuck so I'm hoping he'll be a bit cheaper this year and will do it.

I think wherever Fellaini goes he will be going as a defensive mid. He has said that's his favourite position.

If Baines went to United he'd be gold. Combining that attacking talent with regular clean sheets.

I'd imagine Aguero will be priced similarly to last year, city will score much more goals this year and he'll be a good option.
I agree completely re Fellaini, if he leaves Everton it will be to play the deep role, his style of forward play is not what any of the top teams are looking for.

I don't agree with your Baines comment, he's likely to pick up a few extra clean sheets but he isn't as dynamic in the opposition box as Evra and although he'll be involved in some he certainly won't be the man standing over the ball for every dead ball situation, Buttner will have to play a few games as well, I'll be staying clear of him anyway.

i personally think baines would be brilliant in FF terms for united, he'd be attacking a lot more and would have better players getting on the end of crosses so his assists will go up you'd imagine, a player of his quality on dead balls will still be taking them although he may be off penalties as that's RVP's job. added in would be the extra clean sheets from playing for united over everton. if baines joins, evra will be sold, evra is too good to play back up and theywon't splash 20 million on a left back to rotate him. buttner isn't a concern, will play the majority of his games in the cups like last season.

The only guaranteed starter in the United squad last season was RVP. Moyes might have a different philosophy but normally it doesn't really matter how much was spent on a player, everyone at united was subject to a bit of rotation unless injuries decided otherwise.

In saying that I don't think Baines would sign for United unless he was guaranteed first choice and there hasn't been much word about Evra packing his bags. I doubt he wants to leave.

Gerard Deulofeu has signed for Everton on loan from Barca . All depends on price but worth keeping an eye on him .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,022 ✭✭✭✭Iused2likebusts

The best bet with baines would be if Utd sign him after the game is launched as his price would be cheaper as an everton player. Baines as a united player could be as high as 8 million.

Evra more dynamic in the box? He has 6 goals for United in 8 PL seasons, 4 of them coming last year!

Baines has 14 in the last three seasons!

Baines has 26 assists over the past 4 seasons. Evra has 13.

I think those stats speak for themselves about who is more dynamic in the opposition box.

Baines isn't just about penalties. He's about corners, crosses and free kicks.

You'll have the most attacking left back in the EPL playing for one of the most attacking teams. It's a match made in Heaven.

Agreed. If Baines joined United and Evra moved on, Baines would be worth about 10m on paper so would be a steal at 8m. He would score from clean sheets, corner assists, direct free kicks, indirect free kick assists and MOST importantly, he'd have one of the most deadly strike forces to finish all the chances that go to waste at Everton.

Evra had two dreadful seasons before last. Baines has been incredibly consistent.

But would he be on pens? I think not.

He scored 2 last year. I've taken into account the fact that he won't be penalty taker at United.
