    For anyone that doesn't know apprentice Brian Toomey had a bad fall over at Perth today and is in hospital tonight with serious, life threatening head injuries apparently. Thoughts go out to his family, friends and colleagues, must be an worrying time for them all.

    Here,
    Injured Jockeys Fund report jockey Brian Toomey underwent surgery on Sunday to reduce swelling and resultant pressure on his brain.

    The surgery went well and Toomey remains in a stable condition in an induced coma. It is anticipated he will be kept sedated for the next few days as his progress continues to be monitored.

    Brian Toomey back and declared for a race in Southwell on Sunday. His horse is rated 132 over fences and the highest rated horse it goes against is 100 over hurdles - so this looks like a bit of a penalty kick. No idea what price it will be, but if you got evens you'd take it.
