I have a few velux windows south facing on a semi detached extenson and so on one of them I put a translucent/ bathroom type contact so that I would have extra light but also privacy. This was over 8 years ago. After 5 years I went to a DIY and whenever I asked for a new roll of same I was told there was problems with them and they were unavailable to buy. This summer it is turning brownish /reddish and so I want to rid myself of this forever. Now my question is this what and how is the best way to remove this contact/windowfilm without too much difficulty. The roof velux window being
south facing has dried that contact a lot and when I tried earlier it was dried out and difficult to remove.

If you have got a means by, or a solution to my problem ,I would be most
grateful for your input and or your remedy. DB

Hair dryer should hopefully soften the film and adhesive. It will still be difficult to remove8 year old film but should help. Once this is off, apply white spirits or thinners to the adhesive and remove with a blade.

Pm me if you need to enquire about replacement film

    Hi Paddylonglegs
Thanks for such a swift response and information. I will attempt to do this over weekend and I will use the hair dryer as you have suggested

Thank you I know it may be difficult but If I clear it , I think I will leave it like that. I will let you know how i get on DB

This morning I used a hair dryer and a hob glass scraper on the discoloured
contact. It worked a treat so thanks once again for that tip paddylonglegs.
