Google have now purchased a Quantum Computer from D wave systems. Quantum Computing has the power to change the world in terms of technology. A few years ago it didn't look to promising but with new advancement its starting to take shape.

Does anyone think Quantum Computing is going to be the next big thing in 5-10 years?

skip to 5mins if you nod off.

Google bought in to see if it could make searching faster, machine learning, (driver less cars) NASA got it for

They have dedicated uses, they do stuff with big numbers/big data quicker. You won't see one anytime soon.

Plus I like driving, feck off driver less cars and google glass.

Edit: Oh and the NSA has one so it can snoop on you while the bad guys are blowing up nice folk out for a run.

    Tell-all telephone
, takes alot of computer to do that for everyone.

I was pretty shocked when I read that about Google buying one the other day to be honest, this has the potential to be the main technology driver this century, those computers are fast like you cant even imagine, all possible answers to a problem that might take years on a conventional supercomputer in an eyeblink kind of fast, they're straight out of science fiction and I always thought they were in the always on the way but never here category with cold fusion etc. Looking forwrd to watching it develop anyway.

I would say most things that they bought the quantum pc for, we will never know, if someone got their hands on one now they could crack any password.

Would anyone know where I could find any journals on this subject?
