Samsung 3d TV to DVD player

Hi don't know if this is the correct forum for my query.
My grandfather recently got a Samsungg 3d TV but cannot connect his DVD player to it. **apologies if I'm not using correct technical terms here***
His Sony DVD player only connects via Scart or Component cables.
The Samsung TV only takes hdmi or component cables BUT its not the old way of connecting the cables. It has a green connections which I'm guessing widely is a new type of component connection to new TVs and other end of cable is the coloured connections to old models.
I've contacted my local techie store and sent pics and they haven't a clue! Don't know what cable I need to get for it.
Any help or guidance towards this mysterious cable would be great rather than buying new DVD player!
Attached is the connection on back of TV.
    Thanks for any help!
