Vision – Normal vision without glasses or lenses

They want 20/20 vision? I don't understand these requirements, surely if you can be 20/20 corrected they should be accepting that, they must eb presuming everyone will go forward and be a firefighter where I can understand higher requirements.

This could be a good opportunity for someone.
Does anyone know if the Gardaí will ever introduce civilians to do the dispatching of patrol cars like the English police forces. I know that there are some civilians doing the 999 call takers job. I don't think it was advertised just reassigned some civil servants. They get shift allowance and the conditions are good

Shift allowances are currently approx +33% of pay scales. This includes a rent allowance but it is not certain that the dispatchers will get this until they become firefighters.

If rent allowance is not paid then the shift allowance will be approx +25%.

There will be an amount of overtime.

    Hope this helps
