Bought a 09 Toyota from a Toyota dealer in September I recently had it serviced for the first time, and cracks were found on the two front doors where the check strap is bolted on.the car was imported from the north or uk.ive rang the dealer and emailed them pictures but they keep fobbing me off.does anybody know where I stand should I have to pay for them myself or should the dealer cover it? I know I didn't cause the problem because I'm very careful with the car and I like to keep it right.

I doubt you have any case what so ever, Was this area assessed by you at point of sale? I guess not otherwise you wouldnt have bought the car.

But alas you have no way of proving to Toyota that you didnt let the door catch a breeze or something.

Are you saying that the damage was done while the car was being serviced?

That is a very odd issue. Is that a common fault on that model I wonder?

No I found out today that it is a fault with the early 09 avensis but the Toyota dealer imported my car from the u.k and Toyota say that the warranty is up.the dealer who I bought the car off says my warranty doesn't cover panels but they know that it was a fault with the manufacture of the car and they say they are trying to keep the cost to me at a minimum.surley I shouldn't have to pay a cent???

    Wrong forum.

Plus, your warranty doesn't cover you, and toyotas warranty is expired. Who do you expect to pay for it?

Well seen as it was a fault at manufacture and the fact that I only bought the car off a Toyota dealer 10 months ago I think I have a good case

I wish you luck with it, but can't see you getting anything from it.

Coming from someone in motor trade, and warranty experience.

Best advice I can give, use social media to make your case more apparent to the relevant manufacturer......

I myself don't think your entitled to anything, but a a bad rep can make a company act.

A known fault and sold through the Toyota dealer, I very much think they should be sorting it.
