BA had the full cabin crew complement onboard of 22....the pax were invited VIP's and the CEO.

Greeting them were 380 uniformed frontline staff.

Expect a B787 nose to nose with the A380 photo to appear very soon.

A380 going to operate LHR-FRA for staff proving flights until it it moved to the LHR-LAX route. LHR-HKG will be the 2nd route.

Any truth to the rumor that it will be doing a bit of a BA base tour soon?

I would say yes to that but alas have no insider info. I have been told LHR-FRA-LHR chosen for flight/cabin training as it is short but not too short. (CDG would be too quick for cabin service and cruise handling familiarisation)

The word is that there as to be a few "surprise flights"....no idea where but I would guess this ties in with the rumour of base tour. I don't think LHR-LAX will commence until Sept...so plenty of time for some surprise visits!

I spent my childhood not far from that house. the triple glazed windows certainly helped and of course the curfew. I credit it with my love for Aircraft to this day :)

Whereas growing up on approach (albeit not that low!) for 28 (and actually sort-of 05 when it was still there) and near Weston with single glazed wooden windows caused mine :pac:

BA have 12 A380's on order. The present one will shortly go to Southampton for some cabin work then will go to Manston Airport in Kent where it will be based for most flight crew training. There will also be training at Toulouse Airport. Cabin crew training will be on routes between LHR, Frankfurt, Madrid.

The B787 will also go to Manston for flight crew training. Cabin crew training will be between LHR, Oslo and Stockholm.

News of any other events have not been released yet.

It won't be going to Madrid nor the 787 to Oslo. However there will be 787 domestic flights taking place in August which will only be announced on the day. Expect these to occur between the 18th Aug and the 31st!

I know I'll be on The ARN on the 20th, ;-)

Has this A380 flown since it landed at Heathrow?

I think it is impossible to give an actual date and time for the next flight. I don't think Manston Airport is quite ready at the moment for its arrival. I think BA want a quarantine stores in place there first. For both A380 and B787

It might be there tomorrow it's definitely flying tomorrow from Heathrow as it is filming the new BA ad with the red arrows over the White Cliffs of Dover tomorrow.

Yesterday BA announced internally that SNN is on the visit list. It went on to say that Cardiff, LGW and SNN would 'get a series of visits' while the A380 is on it's two week visit to Manston. We are on day 3 of the Manston visit.

Two of the Red Arrows teamed up with the A380 on Monday to get some practice for a flyover at RAF Fairford. On Saturday July 20 there will be a joint fly past with a team of 10 Red Arrows.

Heard from a mate today that the BA A380 will be down in SNN this weekend.
He says Saturday and is usually pretty spot on on this type of thing.
