    Hi guys,

Just saw the Fujifilm Finepix is part of a deal today on Groupon. It seems a preety good price but I thought I better get some advice before thinking of purchasing. Has anyone any experience of this camera or even some opinions on it. I'm a total novice when it comes to cameras to be honest so any advice is welcome. The camera is on sale for €142.

    Thanks

Thanks, I saw that alright earlier and it kind of comes across that it's a pretty average camera. I suppose I don't expect much more for the value but if I upped my budget a bit would I get a much better camera??

Depends what are you mainly going to shoot?

It would mainly be for group shots, scenery etc. as I'm going on holidays to Greek islands this year and next year I'm hoping to go travelling around the world so would like a decent camera for that.

What would be your max budget?

I'd say I'd go up to €300 - 350 if they were a lot better than the one on Groupon. I don't want to be spending that much more if they are only marginally better quality though if ya get me.

Like i said i dont know much about fujifilm sl300 and it seems like a good deal at 142e and capable producing great images but from what i can see its rather big...DSLR big.So if size isnt an issue for you i would actually go for it.If you want a small compact camera you can have a look at alternatives like fujifilm x10.its a bit dearer but small and exelent camera.

Also canon G12 or Nikon P7100 if you can find any good deals on them.all of them have their pros and cons and quite honestly i would walk in to any of the camera shops and look how they feel in your hand before i make my decision.

Thanks for all the advice. I think you're right about going to a shop to have a look at them first, will have a look over the weekend I think.
