Door handles (kitchen cabinets) - where to get?

    I'm currently in the middle of painting my kitchen cabinets. Existing door handles are hideous, black metal knobs with an almost cruciform backing piece behind them, so they're going in the bin, one or two broke on removal due to having been abused, stuff hung off them etc. All units have one hole in a relatively decent location for putting new handles on.

    Was looking at them in B&Q and the nicer ones are approaching €6 each, with not so nice ones about €5 each in bulk packs. I've 17 doors and 6 drawers to do so this isn't a cheap option.

    Is there somewhere that's actually halfway reasonable for these? Would be looking for fairly plain steel-coloured ones.

    Would prefer not to spend much as the kitchen will be replaced in the medium term, I'm just trying to get away from the hideous colour the varnish had gone...
