    That's insurance fraud.

I smashed an 820 and got it repaired for 85 in a Nokia Care point, did you fully smash the screen on just the surface layer (digitiser)?

Dunno about 85 but Nokia Care in Galway replaced mine for 70 (glass/digitiser only).

Mine was Navan for the same repair, would of been nice to have a trip to Galway for €15

Much better than that fonemenders bunch. It's amazing that they thought a software downgrade would fix my phone rebooting whilst playing any game after the first 2 times didn't fix it.

I had my phone returned to me from fonemenders with Vodafone firmware installed on it even though I wasn't with Vodafone and my phone was an unbranded phone. I will never use fonemenders ever again. The phone wasn't even fixed and they had it for a whole month last year.

sorry to resurect an old thread but I did broke the front of my nokia 820,the lcd screen is showing up perfect but its unresponsive,so basically the digitiser is broken. I was just wondering where wouldbe best place to get this fixed in dublin city centre?I won't get to any of the care centre's in navan or anything like that, and the 70 to 85 is way cheaper than what fonemenders in gpo quoted me to fix it!

    any help much appreciated!

can you post a picture of the damage ? I replaced a screen on a Lumia 800 recently enough and am waiting on a replacement for a 520 in the post.

Here's a video on how to do it. It will save you a good few quid and also make you feel all manly ;)

Illegal activities, such as insurance fraud are not permitted here, as you would know if you bothered to read the charter. Thread closed and infractions handed out.

Following a review of this thread, I'm reopening it as there may still be value to the community in it. Nonetheless, I recommend people read the charter in future and certainly not seek advice on how to break the law. Any more of that here and I'll ban rather than infract.

to give an update I rang nokia care in newbridge and I'm getting it fixed on Thursday, gona have to get the train down and the lad on the phone said he would have it done for me in 10-20 minutes! he also gave me the option of sending it through registered mail but obviously id be waiting on the post man then! it will be 70euro all in,which is about 50 euro cheaper than fone menders and 9 days 23 hours and 50 minutes quicker! pity there is no care centre in the city but its still working out good bit cheaper even factoring in the train! they were very helpful on the phone as well.
