Advice needed please - Selling to UK and Getting paid

    Hi,

    I am selling an animal to a private individual in the UK to value of approx €1500. I need to be able to see funds coming to me as soon as the animal is loaded on board the truck by the collecting haulier.

    Now, having not done this type of thing before I am at a loss as to how to do the financial part of the transaction efficiently. I gather from PayPal that it will cost me approx €58 to receive payment this way. I do not have a UK bank account.

    Does any Boardsie have any advice please. I am too old for smart comments so please refrain - thanks)

    But you have an Irish bank account - right?

    Get the IBAN details from your bank and give that and you account number to the buyer. Tell them to send payment via bank transfer and it needs to clear BEFORE you send the animal.

    paypal is probably the best and safest as probably the buyer wants to have his/her own assurance your wife , the animal, is as described.

    sorry, couldn't help it:D

    whilst €58 is steep enough, it is instant, just be sure you are creating the invoice on the paypal system and all details of the animal are described and any conditions you have agreed.
