    Hello,

Just looking for some advice. My wee one is 7 months old and I've been told by numerous people we should have already started looking at national schools and putting him on the list for some. Really don't have a clue where to start! I don't really want to rule out anything yet... But advice on some good private schools and also good public schools would be greatly appreciated! I've heard of Sanford school, our lady's Clonskeagh, st michaels on ailesbury road and gonzaga (is this a national school?)... Any advice or alternatives and opinions would be welcomes! Thanks

Some schools in that area are private, so that may be a factor. They may or may not take applications from birth, our local school only enrols from the year of entry, whereas others in the area take applications from birth.

you have mentioned some boys only schools and Im guessing "our lady's Clonskeagh" is a girls only school. Another one around your area is St Killians in Robuck road which is a mixed school and has a good reputation

Thanks silverharp, have been looking into st kilians and it looks like a great school, so going to attend the open day there in October. My little one is a boy and I'm pretty open to all mixed or single sex schools so long as they have a good reputation for academia... And of course other extra curricula activities. I'm pretty sure Our Lady's is a mixed school.

well that's my new fact for the day :D good luck on your search, the good thing now with the private schools is that the waiting lists are gone. Killians has a great ratio ~20 per class given that some other private schools seemed to have bigger classes.
