    Hi there,

Could really use the boards help here. I cant name names obviously guys but i know some one who has abandoned her child, went to rehab to hide from drug dealers she stole from (like that would work) and basicly fcuked off and is using the child benefit on drugs and drink. i feel this is wrong and the money should go directly to the child, the girl who is now looking after the child (this girl just had her own baby and is the boys aunt and has now falling in to financial hardship as a result) or the CB stopped. right now i don't care about giving my name to social welfare i just want this to be done and sorted.

    can any one advise me

    cheers in advance

You will have to get social workers ect involved. If some one has the child full time they can get the payments.

need to contact duty social work team, the current carer can become a relative foster carer and receive a weekly payment

If someone is caring for child who has been abandoned by his parents the person with whom the child is living can claim guardian's allowance without social worker involvement. This is if it is likely to be a long term situation, i.e. years rather than weeks.
