Tips for working as a cleaner

    Hi all,

I managed to sort part time work as a cleaner for when I go back to college for a year in September.

I have never done this kind of work before. I've done cleaning as part of plenty of other jobs, but have never just done dedicated cleaning.

Has anyone got any tips, apart from 'Work your arse off', as that one is a given? :p

    Thanks! :)

If you want to avoid blisters then comfortable shoes are a must!

Polo shirt or something light as you'll be sweating. I wouldn't wear jeans either as you can get wet

Powerwash that mop head as it's a waste of time using a dirty mop

Don't mop forward and back, save your back :)

    Congrats on the job

Vanish removes many stains. When you are hoovering a room, don't Hoover around the couch/bed/chair, move them.Vinegar is great for getting a shine on windows, granite work tops.

Watch you're back - no in the streetwise sense but be careful about your manual handling.

Also womens toilets are 100 times worse than mens, contrary to popular belief.
