    Hi all,

Hoping someone can help me out.

I'm hanging a TV in the kitchen, and have easy access to a cable from a dish and also one from an aerial.

Looking for a TV that has Sat and Saorview Tuners in it. I know the Samsung ES6300 has it, but is there a newer model out that has both tuners?

Or if there's another brand that offer this, like LG or Sony?

Looking for something in a 32" or 37".

EDIT - just found this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00BP5F8CY

Anyone using it at the moment? How's the TV guide for Saorview & Sat?

The newest Samsung models (F7000 and F8000) have two sat tuners in them. Over kill for a kitchen probably, but very nice indeed.

I have a Samsung with a satellite and terrestial tuner. Have it on my kitchen wall over 2 years now with no issues at all.

Could potentially pick up something for around 300 - 400 euro then. Nice one lads! :)

Whats the EPG like on the Walkers? Now & Next for Satellite I'm guessing?

Harvey Norman had advertisement for Finlux 32" Terrestrial & Satellite tuner (FIN32LEDSAT) for 249euro in Local paper Saturday 29th June. Small print mentions offer ended 30/06/13. You may be able to haggle down from regular price of 359.

    Hi,

Does anyone know if the tv's with Terrestrial & Satellite tuners also have an analog tuner ?

The reason I ask is I currently send recordings using rf out from the main room to the a 2nd tv.

Also do the satellite tv's support diesec ?

    Thanks in advance

I had a saorview TV before and had no issues tuning in an old VCR that was connected by RF.

Only problem is there's usually one one connector for terrestrial tv / RF input

Can't confirm if they have an analogue tuner, you will have to check the specs before you buy. There have been posts here about some budget TV brands coming without them.

I have an older Sony combi TV and it has Diseqc but again you will have to check the specs before you buy.

    Hi

Have you considered this? Slightly smaller, but many more features, SAT input (Checked the spec) and Saorview plus Internet TV capabilities...

On the site is says "DVB-T Freeview tuner", cant find mention of a SAT tuner?

EDIT - just spotted this: http://www.richersounds.com/static/manuals/27MS53.pdf

    Page 21

Wonder is there two connections though?

The Walker TV's also come with a 2 year warranty. One button press to switch between SAT and SAORVIEW.

A DVB-T Freeview tuner is no good for Saorview, it needs to be a Freeview HD (aka DVB-T2)
There is only one RF connector, as standard.

I've seen one in Currys in the UK. Checked the back of the TV and it has a coax and sat input. Curry's Irish site says Irish digital ready.

There's no need for T2 with Saorview in its current form, even though it's a requirement for receiver approval now.

There can't be too many MPEG2-only 'Freeview' tvs left out there now (this LG certainly isn't one, as already noted). If the OP wants to play it safe wrt Saorview compatibility, the answer is simple: get a Saorview approved tv.

We have a fairly top end samsung with both and it works fantastically although we use sky now.

Just set it to UK, it will enable FreeSat and FreeView rather than SaorView and generic satellite tuner.

FreeView recognises the SaorView channels no problem but it will initially sort them into weird order on the 800 numbers. You can just go into a menu and rearrange them into the correct order.

The only slight annoyance is that you need to go to a menu and select between Aerial and FreeSat and can't integrate the two into the same EPG but it's not that big a deal
And the FreeView EPG is wortg the minor inconvenience

Yeah sounds like you have the Samsung ES6300.

A great TV, hard to find these days. Its on Amazon Warehouse Deals for 500 pounds.
