Hi. I have been in and out of mental hospitals since I was 22, I'm now 28. I was first on oral medication but they moved me onto depot injection the second time I was in hospital. I got serious side effects from the first depot I was on and nobody would listen to me and eventually they moved me onto another one. I then managed to get back onto oral medication when I was 27. I then took two attempts of my life by overdose and I was admitted back to hospital and they put me back on a depot injection. I'm grand now and I will not take an attempt of my life again but my question is can I refuse my depot injection? I'm fed up going into the day clinic every two weeks to get it.

Sorry OP but as you are seeking medical advice here we have no choice but to close your thread. Please go and talk to your GP about this and your concerns at the side-effects, they are best placed to help you on this or can advise on how you should proceed.

    Thread Closed.
