Hey I am just wondering when do you receive the student grant?

Also, I heard the grant comes through in January. If so, how do you pay for accommodation in the first semester? because I literally only have the money for the college fee. Is there some other financial assistance? because my family is going through a financial crisis at the moment. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Theres a student assistance fund you can apply for if your having hard times. Youll get a few hundred off them.

But sorry to be the bearer of bad news but youll need to support yourself till the grant comes through. january if youre lucky. Any possibility of an educational loan from a bank / Credit union? Most common way ive seen people is live off the parents till the grant comes through.

edit - Saint Vincent de Paul also gives out grants if you drop into them. They will give you it every year if they give it to you. No need to go back every year.
