Help with how the student grant works

    Hey I am just wondering when do you receive the student grant?

    Also, I heard the grant comes through in January. If so, how do you pay for accommodation in the first semester? because I literally only have the money for the college fee. Is there some other financial assistance? because my family is going through a financial crisis at the moment. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    You get the grant payments over 9 monthly instalments. If everything gets approved quickly I think it starts around October. It could be October when they start paying, It could be January. It depends. Each case is individual.

    It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
