i need a new cassette, currently have a (massive) 12-30 on my bike (trek 1.5) i hardly ever use the 30, as you can imagine, and I'm wondering would an 11-28 be more suited to me. I do a moderate amount of hill climbing, jenkinstown hill being a regular part of my training routes. i done race and mainly do sportives.
    any help/advice greatly appreciated

If you're not using the 30 then you're not going to miss it. The next lowest gear on that cassette is a 27 tooth, so if your using that on the hills, then maybe a 12-27 would be better, same range of gears, but smaller jumps between gears.
