    Hey guys,

I'm restoring a basic early 80's 10spd roadbike at the moment, and the wheels are going to have to go. I'm hoping to keep the original size though, rather than change to 700c.

Here's to hoping someone will have their old 27" 1/4 wheelset left lying in a shed or attic. I'm not looking for anything super light or racey - Just a pretty standard cheapish set would be great.

    Cheers for reading!

I may have a set in my shed in Wexford, but I won't be there for 3 weeks so if no one gets back to you before then, drop me a reminder and I will have a look and get pictures.

Thanks a mil, I'm not in a huge rush for them, the wheels on it are fine for a while. Will give you a PM in a few weeks if I'm not sorted :)

Giving this a quick bump in case anyone's found anything in their garage!

Completely forgot to check on these, will be back at my shed this weekend and will bring them back to Dublin if they are the right sort of wheels.

On the off chance you see this before the morning, and you have a pair there, I'll be heading from Dublin to Hook Head, and on to Waterford in the morning, so if you come across anything, I could meet you nearby/wherever is handiest for yourself.

Brought them back to Dublin with me. 5 speed block on them, front wheel looks in alright nick but the spokes are clearly old and slightly soft. The rear rim is coated in rust over half the surface area. If you want to collect them, they are free but if you don't, I will drop them to Rothar to see do they want any part of them.

When I seen them I remembered I got new ones for my wifes bike of ebay for about 60euro delivered. I would recommend that over these. These ones look the same as the ones I ordered:

Thanks a mil for bringing them up - But I think I might follow your advice, they sound not too far off what's there already. I reckon the eBay ones will be the best call.

    Sorry for any hassle involved!
