Busking

    Hi,
My friend and I have been playing together as a 2 piece, and are looking to start busking. We don't have much gear, just guitar and cajon. We were on Grafton Street, and while we got a few quid and were delighted with that, we kind of felt like there were people walking by who didn't even notice us/couldn't hear us, and we also had a group of people saying we needed mics!
So until we get the mics and shizzle, where else would be a good spot in town we can be heard without the gear?

On Grafton Street you might need mics alright. You're competing with the noise of a lot of people going about their business, not to mention numerous other buskers and street performers who do have amps, and enjoy turning them up to 11 (a major gripe of mine).

Try sidestreets and laneways. You'll get better acoustics that way aswell.
Not using mics, you'll soon learn how to be heard :)

Thanks for that advice, we need to busk as much as possible as we are 17 and there doesn't seem to be much all age gigs going and no one else will have us play!
