Rear Subframe 02 passat/A4

Just wondering is the rear subframe on a 02 Passat the same as a 02 A4? Need to swap my towbar from a swan neck to a 2 bolt plate type.

No. 02 A4 had moved on to the B6 platform while the Passat was still using B5 that year. A search on the Bosal site shows that the hitch for the Passat is 031-201 and the one for the A4 is 034-601. Different part numbers, different parts.

Thanks. Had a gut feeling it was the case. Glad I didnt go for the passat one I was looking at on DD.
