Mechanical engineer needs advice

I am a graduate mechanical engineer just finished college. I am currently working in building services (m&e). I would like to know if anybody could give me advice on how difficult it would be to get into manufacturing/design if I decide that I don't like the m&e side of things. I've only just started my job but I don't want to get stuck in m&e because there are far more job opportunities in the manufacturing side of things.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
