looks like a nice cross between the 60D and 7D

If anything seems higher spec in a lot of areas, ISO performance being the main one.

I suppose we'll see soon enough when the reviews start coming in.

This might be interesting as a backup camera. Although the 7D mkII is due to be announced before the end of the year too so it might be worth holding off to see the specs on that.

Interesting piece of kit. Anyone who uses their SLR for movies on a regular basis will have to be interested in the new sensor. The constant AF in movie and live view mode via phase detection is a pretty substantial leap in PD tech.

Would be interested to see how it performs in high iso as the 60D was noisy even at ISO 800 and unusable above 1600 for anything larger than a facebook sized pic.

Much more to get excited about than the 700d that's for sure.

Also, the plummeting price of 60d (new or used) will be of great interest to many :)

With specs and price I would expect 7D owners will loose the most....

I agree, on paper it does seem to beat the 7D in most (but not all) areas and the price of each new is the same for body only. 7D owners also have another hit coming if they release the rumored 7D Mk 2

It does look like a much bigger jump over the 60 than the 60 was to the 50. Very interested to see how the new sensor preforms.
