larsen trap from maceoin

    Well am thinking about getting a Larson trap and maceoin seem to have a good range of them..on the multi catch magpie trap for €90 it sais it isn't suitable for crows:( am wandering has anyone used this particular trap are they any good and have you caught crows in them .....thanks

    Would it not be easy enough to make one? 90 is a bit steep for something that would cost about a tenner in parts.

    Have made one but find that I have to keep repairing it after grey crows!

    Here's one I made earlier!
    2" wire, lots of cable ties and 2 bought 'larsen' springs.

    as it says on the ad, the compartments are to small to hold the larger grey crow. i use the octagonal trap with greys and works fine but when there is more than two in it at the same time, the shaking causes the other gates to go off.

    i have the octagon one and its brilliant buy the galvanised one and feck the price its worth the extra few bob

    Just a little tip. If its a side entry trap if you wrap some insulation tape on the end of the rod that the drop gate sits on it makes the gate less sensitive but will still drop under the weight of the bird. Works for me anyway.
