Hi, Im wondering if there is anyone that could help me - myself and my partner are receiving rent allowance but when we got the cheque it had a misprint on the written part is had for example; 549.60 five, four, nine, sixty cents. but the right amount in numbers was; 539.60. we hadn't notice until the cashier in the post office informed us when we went to cash it. Our rent was due today 1-7-13 our landlord is strict about her rent although she does give us a day or 2 incase of any difficulties. im just wondering what can the welfare officer do about this as we are due to go up in the morning.

    Thank you in advance,
    Suzanne :)

Talk to the landlord, explain you have cheque, but there is a typo and post office won't cash it. Then speak to community welfare officer and I imagine it will be a straightforward matter of re-issuing it

There is no such thing as a month to month lease, I suggest you look up the Private Residential Tenancies Board website or talk to Threshold or the Citizens Advice re you rights as a tenant.

Hi i did not know this we are renting through a letting agents and she told us it was a month to month lease we signed a new lease but she told us until we kept up prompt payments each month it would be a month to month lease.

is this possible as we have been keeping our payments up to date but have not recieved the new copy of our lease??
