Freesat problems

    Hi

    I have 3 problems

    1. recording,
    2. playing playstation
3 and watching an Irish/FTA channel without it going blank

I have a Samsung Smart TV and I have 2 recording devices : a Freeview Plus Box and a Freesat Plus box. My problem is that not only do I have a problem recording but every so often I have to push the button on my 4 Way Scart Switch because the channel seems to go blank. I have 2 x HDMI cables : 1 in the playstation and the other in the Freesat + box.

I can't seem to control this and when I want to record (the last few nights) I had a "lightning" signal indicating a failed recording. I have both boxes 3 and 2 yrs but this problem is only happening the last 4-5 months.

The boxes are fine but I have an issue with this Scart Switch box.

    Please help

Why are you using the SCART switch?

Anyway, it sounds like a bad connection or two somewhere. Check all the cables and connectors, from aerial and dish, and to the TV.

The so called Smart TV has only 1 scart output so I have to use a 4 switch scart box (one for the Irish and one for the non Irish channels) and every so often when I am watching a show the tv goes blank so I have to push the button on the scart switch to put it back on.

I have checked the leads but everything seems fine. I did paint the house late last year and had to take the leads out but since then its gone wonky.

You say the Freesat+ box is connected via HDMI: which 'non Irish channels' are using the scart input? Other non-UK satellite stuff?

Freesat+ box is connected via HDMI and it is also connected via scart. The Freeview box is connected via scart only.

I have a problem with the source too. I used to be able to press the power button (Freesat/Freeview remote) to flip over fron Irish to Freesat box but now I have to use the source button on the Smart remote and then press the switch on the Scart Box. At the moment I have "No or bad signal" when I switch over from Freeview to Freesat

 Why is the Freesat box using 2 connections?

It always worked fine before. The tv has only 1 scart input so I had to get a Scart Switch box to connect the Freeview box and the Freesat box. I have 2 HDMI cables : one for the PS3 and the other for the Freesat box - again, it always worked with 3 systems.

Just connect the Freesat box with HDMI. You don't need to use both AV connections.
