Ive got a 2003 Saab 9-3 2.2 Linear Diesel car. I bought it relatively recently as a cheap run around.

I need some new tyres on the front as they are now illegal. The rear tyres have a few thousand miles of wear yet.

I was surprised to discover that the rear tyres are 205/55/15 while the front pair are 195/65/15.

There is no manual with the car, and when Ive been looking at Google, I couldnt find any mention of the rears normally having wider tyres. I know that sporty cars can often have wider tyres, but this is a Linear model, there is NOTHING sporty about it.

Looking at all of the tyres, they look fine, not bulging out, or too skinny, so Im confused about what size to buy for the front.

    Anyone have any idea?

much the same. 6 of one... Just pick one or the other. If it's a runaround price the two and go for the cheaper size. More than likely the 195's are cheaper.

I'm fairly sure I had 205 all round on my saab.
195, 205, 215 should all be ok, previous owner probably though it would be cooler with wider tyres in the rear.

I would get the same width as the rears (205) and put the new tyres on the rear and the current rears on the front.

The correct size if the car has alloys is 215/60 15.

If running on steel wheels (not many of them are) then it is 195/65 15.
