Can someone tell me what the deal is with getting a new GP?

I'm from the midlands, and for reasons I needn't get into, I'd like to get a new GP. I have a medical card. The usual place I go to has about 4 or 5 GPs in one building, all of whom at one point I've seen at least once. If I wanted to go to an entirely different GP practice, how do I go about it? Do I apply through the hospital? I understand there is a rule about going to GPs within a 7-mile distance from where you live. Thank you for reading

Submit query, prefilled one for choice of Doc there and all. They'll probably send you out part 5 bit for a new doc to accept you, reissue card and that'll be it.

Or ring local practices- and see who is accepting vacancies- where we are here most surgeries are not taking new patients- medical card or private- they're just bursting at the seams. Any good practice will have a secretary who will do all the paperwork for you.
