    Hi Niall,

Unless you are one of those people who makes friends just like that because hey, you're just great, I really recommend that you join some sort of club/society or something. Anything really that will get you in a group of like-minded people doing things they like.

    Good luck!

I would suggest joining up with The Dublin Devils.
They're dublins gay soccer team, really lovely bunch of guys and it doesn't matter in the slightest if you're not that good at soccer. It's a fun weekly social event mostly and great for meeting new people.

    Take a look

Meetup.com has absolutely every possible type of social group under the sun - it's brilliant for when you have spare nights free and want to do something, but not on your own!

Try Gaire.com, an Irish LGBT forum, they have lots of meets and there's lots of straight members too.

I never said that in my post, All my friends are straight.
Maybe I should have made it more clear that I would be friends with anyone no matter what there sexuality however to make a few Gay friends would be a bonus as I want to get involved with the gay scene more.

Best of luck in the city Niall. More often than not it's the work crowd you will socialise with, you might meet their friends and your network expands from there... It happens organically!

If anyone is interested in maybe sharing accommodation I would be interested as I'm still looking for accommodation and its quite expensive.

Do you play basketball? Look on facebook or boards, there are regular pickup games a few days a week.
