    Hi Guys

I picked myself up a Canon 600D last week with an 18-55mm IS lense.

I've neen lookingat 70 -250 IS canon lenses which are reasonably priced but when i got to 300mm they get silly.

It is possible to get a Sigma or tamron with IS functionality ?
    I already have a 70 - 300 m from my 1100D. Is the IS functionality worth it?

Image stabilisation on Sigma glass is OS (optical stab) and on Tamron it's VC (Vibration comp).

I certainly don't regret getting IS lenses, I've shot in a lot of situations where having an extra stop or two to work with has been the difference between getting a shot and getting a mess. (The the more expensive IS lenses are normally optically better than the cheaper non IS glass is nice too)
When you were shooting with the 70-300 did you find yourself wishing you had it, were you wishing hard enough to justify the price difference?
