Best place to buy ram at the moment?

    Hi, i recently started getting random bsod in all sorts of ways on win7 64.
    Sometimes it wouldn't even get as far as windows before bluescreening.

    I eventually tested the ram using memtest86 and found one of the sticks was fried, but the other was fine and all 4 slots are fine.

    PC is only 6months old, self build, with 8gb(2x4gb)corsair vengence 1600 lowprofile ram.

    So should i try a different brand of ram, or was i just very unlucky? Where is the cheapest at the moment? Do these modules have to work in pairs, or can i buy a new pair and add it to the current good one i have,as in 3x 4gb??

    Any help would be much appreciated..

    I could be wrong but I believe Corsair have a lifetime warranty on their sticks.

    Edit: Warranty length seems to be product specific. They're usually quite lengthy so I would look into getting a replacement from Corsair / Whoever you bought it from.

    Indeed, just return them.

    Corsair have a good returns policy. I think that you'll have to pay for the postage yourself. I sent a few USB sticks back to them.
    The only thing is that you have to send RAM back in pairs to anyone I've dealt with (Gskill, OCZ).

    If you just want to buy some new RAM, you could go to memoryc.com. One of the cheapest places around for RAM (aside from hardwareversand, but you'll be waiting longer and paying €19 for delivery), they have free delivery and you'll be close if there's any problems that need returns.
