NPPR due tonight

We are living in a neg equity house and own a (neg equity) apartment which we rent out (as there isn't a snowball's chance in hell of selling it). The rent doesn't cover the mortgage, but it's the only option at the moment.

Am really resenting paying the NPPR due tonight - I have every other licence and insurance known to man paid, but after the crap that has gone on this week, I really do not want to hand over more money to ....what?

I have paid property tax on both house and apartment - basically, will I be locked up, if I just don't pay? Am so disillusioned with everything at the moment - we have been working so hard, just to keep going - and the crap from Anglo/Gov over the weekend has just made me sooooo mad (and almost rebellious!)

    Just wonder what ye think?

You won't be locked ip, but you will end up paying a whole lot more in penalties very quickly.

Did you pay it last year ?

You won't be locked up, just keep accruing more debt, so if and when your property is no longer in negative equity you won't be able to sell until you discharge the fees

Id imagine if you dont pay, the money will either be taken when the house is sold/transferred to someone else.

Thanks folks. I have paid it up to this year. We are a bit stretched and thought that by not paying it, we would save ourselves some grief. At the moment, I really don't care if the money will be taken off when the house is sold/transferred (as I can never envisage the 'SOLD' sign outside the apartment!)

I'm just so very angry/ disillusioned etc. etc - that €200 means so much to us and the Anglo heads who crippled our family are on holidays and have absolutely zero empathy with humanity.

Am hoping for a big dose of karma to come their way!

I find the proposed new tax on top hats and monocles outrageous.
Should a demonstration be organised I shall send my butler to protest on my behalf.

It is rubbish., but I think you would have discharge the arrears before contract would be signed, and I think the penalties accrue at like €20 a month? I hate to say it but you are better off paying it no matter how ****ty it feels

Thanks for that - didn't realise fees involved.
Am just so anti - paying -for-anything at the moment!

I just detest the veiled threats for ordinary people (especially with the crap that has gone on)
I though I was launching my '1 man protest!!!' Obviously not

You're welcome to come on boards and moan about it as a mini protest! But if you can sell the apartment to cover the mortgage in the future you will have to produce proof it was paid. This is the last year (property tax taking over?) I think but with penalties of 20 quid a month I presume in 10 years you would be forking out €2600 upfront for the sake of €200 now? It doesn't make sense not to pay it :(

What a stupid reply. Really fed up with people posting nonsense replies to simple questions.

Well why don't you help out the op by posting a no nonsense reply to the simple question instead of ranting at another posters input.

I'm fed up of people like you.

OP, when did you buy the property? Was it as an investment, or did you and your partner own separate property before you met - because if you bought it as an investment and now you are moaning about it, your going to get f-all sympathy from me!

    Paid the f$£%ing thing!

Thanks folks - galled me to do so! Feel like complete fool for paying and thought it was my miserable form of protest by (almost) not doing so.

So much for vive la revolution! (Fell on it's face TBH!)

Nope- not an investment! If it was, I wouldn't be upset - not what happened - not seeking your sympathy Arciphel

OP, if you don't pay then the money will be taken at source from your salary / wages or welfare payments as applicable.

Why is that a stupid reply? If the OP wants to sell he/she will have to pay it plus the penalties

    And the above reply.

Also seriously. Who wears a red hat in a yellow submarine anyway?

    Bills paid.....but not happy :(:(:(
Would actually rather give the money to St. VdeP/Focus/Shelter....instead of our *&^%-up of a government, who will p$%^ it away.

Excuse my language - my rant is over - the rage remains!

People who love freedom, wearing a woolly red hat on a yellow submarine is my way of expression in a cold and cruel world.
