2002 Peugeot 307 2.0 hdi problems

Hey, just checking if anyone else has had a few of these issues.

ABS, when plugged into a diagnostics unit it's showing the rear passenger sensor is gone. I called Peugeot and they said they've never had a model through that has a sensor that needs replacing. They think its the ABS unit. But again speculation as they haven't had their hands on the car at all

Passanger front indicator won't work. Checked the fuse box and connectors but still no joy.

Turbo, doesn't work at all now. Seems like a blockage somewhere but I'm no mechanic. I don't have blue smoke so the turbo should still be good but it's not kicking in at all. Driving a 2.0 weight around basically

FYI I've been to a mechanic and he's stumped

What does the abs do? Does the light just come on at 10 or 15 mph?

The indicator is usually contacts in the headlight for the bulb holder. Should be easy enough to see.

Power does sound like air flow or something. Should also be easy enough to diagnose.

well if says sensor is gone then its that or wiring to it, dont need to have blue smoke for the turbo not to work, bearings could be seized, but might not be the prob, could be something else like sensor causing turbo not to give boost , need proper check by good technician

The ABS doesn't fault, car drives perfectly but the warning for ABS/ESP is on constantly

The turbo - light to clean engine filter stays on constantly (I've cleaned this out multiple times) I figure that's the fault but its not in the filter below the turbo so I'm guessing its the turbo unit itself :-( that's quite costly to replace if it is

The 307's sometimes flag abs faults due to corrosion building up around the abs sensors and increasing the air gap between the sensor and magnetic ring on the bearing....sometimes cleaning the sensors can help.
The air gap should be around 2mm or so.

The indicator problem could be the bulb holder..is it flashing faster on one side than the other..?

The turbos don't normally give trouble on the 2.0 hdi's so I would suspect there is a vac leak somewhere.

Most good mechanics should be able to sort these problems for you.

Just got a contact for a mechanic around the area there so ill get him to take a look if possible.

Checked the abs sensor and there actually wasn't corrosion at the time so assumed something more Sinister at work.

yes indicator in the car flashes quicker on the one siide. the bulb on one side doesnt come on no matter what i do though.

Maybe worth checking the wiring back to the abs ecu if all looks o.k.

As for the indicator the holders do give trouble...This seller has 777 of these sold...:D

Lol I've actually already replaced that and still no joy. You now understand my frustration lol

The contacts inside the headlight can burn too.

Did you remove the abs sensor? It's where the sensor meets the metal on the rear hub that the corrosion builds up and moves the sensor, increasing the gap.

But if the light is on 100% of the time this probably won't be the problem.
