Flying to Mallorca this Friday and still dunno where to stay !

Going with herself, looking for a decent place to stay -- that's near a beach and bars/restaurants and by near I mean a 5-10 minute walk.

Don't want Santa ponsa, magallof etc

Just looking for a decent quality hotel with the above attributes. Willing to pay 200 Euro a night.

    Any suggestions ??

Thanks. Is it near a beach and restaurants ?

It is next to a small beach, but you can go down steps from the hotel patio area straight into the sea to swim.

Quite a selection of restaurants nearby. To suit most tastes and budgets.

We went up north to a place called Soller. It was fantastic relaxing holiday.

Puerta Pollensa is nice. Everywhere is fairly close to the beach, it has lots of atmosphere but is not mad. There is a very very good fish restaurant out in the middle of the harbour as well. I don't know any hotels though I'm afraid.

For something different, upmarket and very cool (and not cheap) Illetas (pronounced ee-ye-tas) is Majorca's best kept secret.the Roc hotel is nice there and has sea swimming off a jetty, or Illetas beach is a five minute walk. It is also easy to get to Palma if you want to do some sight seeing.

Don Pedro in Cala San Vincente, north of the island, beautiful area, peaceful and relaxing well away from the madness.

Also east of the Island is a place called Sa Coma, its quite compared to other areas and plenty of choices for hotel, I would recommend the Punta Amer, its beautiful and right on the beach.
