More sad news for Irish motorsport.
    Motorsport Ireland
    Paul Mulcahy

Motorsport Ireland deeply regrets that competitor Paul Mulcahy of Dungarvan, Co.Waterford, has passed away following injuries received in a tragic accident, which occurred during stage 4 of the Carrick-on-Suir Stages Rally which took place today Sunday 30th June 2013.

As a mark of respect the organisers, Carrick-on-Suir Motor Club, have cancelled the remainder of the event.

Motorsport Ireland and Carrick-on-Suir Motor Club extends its heartfelt sympathy to Paul’s family and friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with them at this very sad time.

Thats 4 losses in such a short time, the marshall in Canada, Alan Simonsen at Le Mans, there was a driver killed at Paul Ricard in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo and this aswell.
R.I.P. to them, and condolences to their families.
Unfortunately thats the game, and the danger is one of the things that defines motorsport.
At least they died following thier passion and hopefully lessons are learned.

Unfortunately, Motorsport is dangerous. Sad to hear of anyone killed in a Motorsport event but he died doing what he loved.

Sorry to hear that you had to witness the incident first hand, I suppose its not something you expect to happen when you set out in the morning.

Paul was a legend for his style of driving. His starlet one of the iconic cars in irish rallying. Huge loss to rallying today. Thoughts with his family right now.

Its never something you want to see barney, so take care of yourself.
