    Hi,

I am thinking of buying a house that requires renovation. The house is built on a hill and part of it is raised off the ground by several feet, with a hollow brick section underneath. There are air vents in this section and it is from about 1m high (less as you go back). The floor boards are basically directly over this section which measures about 50 sqm altogether. There is no insulation at all between the floorboards and the underneath of the house which has air vents.

What insulation options would I have in a case like this and what would be the likely cost of them?

    Thanks for your help

Spray foam insulation - the "industrial" stuff - not the stuff in aerosol cans

I think it is just a small layer of insulating material, beneath it is concrete. The underneath of the house is divided up in the same way that the rooms upstairs are. The sections on the outside have air vents into the garden.
