    Hi there,

Garden is over grown with bushes and weeds, we want to remove the lot and pebble it over.

What I'm wondering is, is there a weed killer that's safe around dogs? ..As the dogs do like to be outside and alot.
We won't be getting rid of all the grass either..as the dogs like the bit...but we'd like to clean it up a little.

And advice on what we could use to kill the plants/weeds? Cheers

I was looking at getting one for my sheep field and was advised OWK (Organic Weed Killer) was ok once it's dry for grazing animals, and my dogs also seem to think they're grazing animals :D Its an Irish company, I know they used to sell in Woodies. It's more expensive than the other weed killers, so in the end I pretended I didn't see the weeds, budget ran out

I'm reasonably sure that glyphosate is dog-safe once you've let it dry. It denatures as soon as it hits the ground. A super weedkiller and reasonably environmentally friendly. It went by the brand name of Round-Up for years, but was de-licensed recently so can be got under a few different brand names now, a lot cheaper too!

Most modern weedkillers are pet friendly now. Once it's dry, you can safely let your animals loose on it. Be careful applying it windy weather though.

My dogs eat the grass, particularly the long grass in the middle of the weeds and most weed killers say not to let grazing animals in until the weeds have died back, that's why I'd be afraid to use normal weedkillers cos my lot are half dog and half grazing animals :D
