So I know this isn't build related but I'm stuck!

I have 50mb UPC, get about 52mb on my wired PC and 40mb+ wireless on the iPad and 2 smart phones. My laptop (Dell Studio 1737) only gets about 22mb on wireless though. (about 52mb wired)

    All test done with speedtest.net.

So I have tried 3 different browsers, Chrome (main), IE and Firefox.
I have cleared cache, cookies, history etc.
I have uninstalled AVG and disabled Windows Firewall.
I reinstalled AVG and did full scan. (no errors)
I've used disc clean up and de frag.
I've looked on dell.com for the most up to date drivers for the wireless adapter but couldn't find any. Windows says they're up to date.

I have not tried anything with the router as other wireless devices are fine.

    Any ideas?

Been doing some more research, am I right in saying that 22mb/s is the max speed out of 802.11b?

If its B is it not 11? (Means say 8 in real life).

Sounds like G with an old chip. Best bet is to fit a new wifi card.

    Something like that.

Cool man, was just reading about replacing the card and was looking at this Intel 5100 for £16.99. Will try the one you linked, save a few quid! :)

Double check that its a mini PCI slot card in there right now, google should tell you right off.

Is it the WWAN card or the WLAN card I need to replace?

The WWAN is PCI Express Mini Card.

The WLAN is PCI Express Half Mini.

WWAN is for a sim AFAIK, WLAN is wireless LAN(what you need).

First check what card is in your laptop. (in device manager, or open it and look at the card to get the model #)
