Is it always someone else who damages your car?

    This is a rant!

OK. With the exception of 2 minor tips (that I can recall) during my first few weeks learning to drive, I have not done any damage either to my own cars, or anybody elses...not even a scratch!

I seem to be having constant bad luck with other people causing damage to my precious metal and plastic bits!!!

It all started after I sold my first car (astra) and picked up a 318. After a few weeks of ownership, the OH pressed the accelerator instead of the brake and took the paint off the passenger wing, right to the metal after hitting a fence, in her garden  This was just after I spent a fortune customising it. It never got the paint work sorted :(

Then I get me an FTO and I spend over a grand fixing her up. A few days later, I get rear ended and the back of my car is destroyed. I still have the neck pain from that incident.

I get another FTO and have spent thousands getting it perfect. About a week or two after A full respray, I find a very nasty and deep scrape on the passenger wing. I get it redone. Then someone backs into the rear bumper and leaves some very noticeable scuffing. I get it buffed out. Before that scuff, the same thing happened when I left it parked across the street. I notice then, a couple of dings on the door  and then when the OH had it, she brings it back with a nasty scuff and scrape on the side door caused by a soccer mom wagon. None of the above damage was paid for by the people who caused it

I left the car with a body shop to have the latest scuff sorted and an OE spoiler put on. My bro in law collected it and was using it for the few days I was away. On my return, he had damaged the rear bumper when parking and the rear passenger light was smashed. The bumper had been resprayed, was was not reset properly. He said he scuffed the wheel too in a separate incident, but hadn't realised he buckled it (17" Kahn). Of course, he has paid for repairs. And now, just a few minutes ago, one of the kids has left a myriad of scratches on the front bumper after squeezing by with a bicycle. When I checked, I noticed a crack in the bumper that had to be caused by a separate incident.:mad::mad: Of course, I will go and get it all fixed, because I can't stand driving a car that's damaged.

Should I just give up and get a mondeo with scratches included? It's impossible to keep a car free of dings and scratches in this effin country.
