I have a 2005 1.8l Nissan Primera Petrol Automatic Estate and according to the cars computer the fuel economy is 10.1 litres per 100kms.

I do mostly city driving so was wondering if anyone had any ideas if that fuel economy is bad/average/good for this type of car?

I was thinking of trading it for a 2004-2006 Toyota Prius or something like that as I am going through about €50 every couple of weeks in petrol so opinions on that are most welcome too.

    10.1l/100km works out as 23mpg.
Which in fairness isn't bad for a big estate car in City stop/go driving.

A prius would see a significant savings on City driving alright.

50 euro every couple of weeks is very general, how many miles would you do?

That's actually 28mpg which is fine for stop start driving in a car like that.

    I had 03 Primara 1.8, but manual.

In city driving I was getting also about 10 l/100km.
It was during the winter though (temperatures of -20 and lower) when fuel consumption is always higher.
But on the other hand for automatic fuel consumption will be greater than for manual.

So IMHO your fuel consumption at around 10 litres/100km is normal.

I had a 07 automatic 1.8 Primera and was getting about 9.1 with a mix of city and M50 driving. So for a Primera you are close to the mark .... But it is/was thirsty in my opinion.
