See o learys of lissarda were given 2 yrs notice some time ago about loosing the franchise and have now decided to take vw to high court . When the lost Audi they were assured they would keep vw and didn't take on another franchise , vw claim they have plenty of notice and its too late now bringing court case

I'd say there might be a lot of interest from other former franchised dealers about the outcome of this case.

    With respect, whats the point?

Do VW care? Not a breeze. They made close to €3.4 Billion profit in 2012. So a small Cork dealer is merely a fun day out in the courts. If they win, whats the benefit? None. VW won't sign them on again, they'll lose the contract anyway eventually and certainly VW won't be in a amicable position to sell to them. Theres battles not worth fighting and to me this is one of them.

Screams of 'poor dealers god love em' free press advertising.

O'Learys were refused the injunction as they'd been on notice of the contract termination for two years. The matter will be heard in full in November.
